What are Hotfixes?

This article explains the process, purpose, and impact of deploying hotfixes outside regular release cycles.

Hotfixes are urgent fixes given to the platform to resolve critical issues, such as bugs or defects. This could be an error causing system crashes, security vulnerabilities, or major functionality failures. Hotfixes require immediate attention outside the regular release cycle and are typically implemented and pushed live as soon as possible.

Roles Responsibility
Operations  Identifies, develops, and tests hot fixes. 
QA Checks the effectiveness of the fix.
Product Reviews and approves the fix for deployment.
Customer Support Updates help centre articles and communicates the fix to affected users if necessary. 
Training  Create or update training materials.
